Senior Translator, in-house (f/m)
(specialising in business/finance or automotive/engineering)

Job description

You can

• Provide high-quality translations from German into English in various subject areas; ideally, also from additional working languages
  
• Provide quality assurance, and edit and evaluate translations by colleagues and freelance employees
  
• Contribute your knowledge and expertise to support the development of young in-house translators
  
• Assist project managers, freelance translators and clients with linguistic issues
  
• Help to evaluate applications and test translations into English
  
• Use translation tools
  
• Carry out terminology-related tasks
  
• Collaborate in and revise translation processes

Qualifications

• You are a native speaker of English and have excellent knowledge of German
  
• You are proficient in another European language (desirable)
  
• You have a university degree in translation or a related subject
  
• You have several years’ translation experience in the subject areas mentioned
  
• You enjoy working in a team, grasp concepts quickly and are flexible and resourceful
  
• You work carefully, systematically and independently with economic awareness, and have excellent decision-making and organisational skills
  
• You have excellent MS Office skills

Our mission

Osborne Translation Services Ltd. is expanding its team of translators consisting of experienced professionals working alongside graduates in its Trainee Programme. We primarily serve our two business partners, beo Gesellschaft für Sprachen und Technologie mbH (www.beo-doc.de/en) and Matrix Communications AG (www.matrix-ag.com), providing excellent translations for the automotive and mechanical engineering industries, as well as finance, business, marketing and general texts.
